Using Custom Made Doors on a Historic Renovation, with Simpson Door Company

By on March 17, 2018

Finding doors to match our renovation to the “T” was a major concern, however, we thrilled to find that the Simpson Door company could manufacture for us. Both entry and interior doors we created from Douglas Fir, a tree species that grows abundantly in the Pacific Northwest, where Simpson Door Company is based. There is nothing like solid wood doors – they sound better, feel better, they’re more private and they last longer.

The original panel wood French doors with sidelights off the breakfast nook was beyond repair and the owner’s budget. Fortunately, Simpson Door Company stepped up to the plate with an exact replica of the existing door.

Simpson has been around for 106 years, handcrafting doors out of Washington state the whole time. Simpson Door Company can provide a door built out of any species, any size for an opening.
