Fresh Air Fireplace – On the House

Fresh Air Fireplace

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt began his famous “fireside chats” in 1933. The message warmed our hearts and America breathed a sigh of relief. Today, the new fresh air fireplace by Heatilator does much the same!

First and foremost, it features a beautiful open-hearth gas flame with one big difference: no glass doors! It has a patented air curtain that keeps exhaust gases from entering the room while allowing radiant heat to pass right through. All hot exhaust goes up the flue instead–through a heat recovery ventilator where fresh outside air is drawn in and heated by the hot exhaust (by as much as 100 degrees) before the exhaust is vented outdoors.

The heated fresh air is then routed to the furnace and circulated normally throughout the home. The result? Today, with energy-saving heat recovery and eight whole-house fresh air changes per day, ‘the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.’
