Candle Wax Removal – On the House

Candle Wax Removal

By on July 15, 2014

Holidays put extra wear and tear on your home, and many people in your home mean many little accidents might occur. This time of year folks use lots of candles. Candle glow is warm, festive and romantic, yet candle wax is a pain to get out when it drips on your carpet.

From deep within the Carey Brothers’ vault of pick-me-ups, we draw a tip from our info pool. Says here when you have a meltdown and candle wax drips on your carpet, you have two options.

One is to chill the wax with an ice cube and scrape it off with a butter knife.

The other is to cover the drops with a paper towel or brown paper bag, and gently run a warm iron over the spot. Start with a fairly low temperature and keep checking and increasing as you go along. One or both of these should do the trick.
