Remote Control Everything

While most of us can't live without our TV remote control, we don't think twice about getting up to turn on a light or to activate the ceiling fan. Yet, the same remote-control technology exists for these and most other electronics, too. Hardware stores, home centers and electronic specialty shops sell wireless control transmitters and plug-in receiver module sets that let you turn lamps, radios and fans on and off from as far away as 50 feet.
