Painting Mitt

Rocky and his friends made their TV debut on this day in 1959. In one episode, Rocky noticed the ornamental wrought-iron porch railing leading up to the front stairs of the clubhouse was all scraped and scratched up. It had been damaged by Boris and Natasha standing on it to peer through the window to see what was going on inside. Turning to Bullwinkle, he said, "We gotta repaint it." Rocky began doing so with a small brush, but soon noted: "Gee, this is gonna take hours!" "Maybe not," said Bullwinkle. "I got an idea!" He slipped on a disposable latex glove and then a fuzzy sock over it. Dipping it into the paint, he proceeded to coat that railing by hand -- getting into every nook and cranny in record time. Soon, he exclaimed "Well, that does it, Rock." "Gee, that is great, Bullwinkle. What did you use?" "I could have used a lot of things: a sock. a rag, whatever." "So what did you use for the painting mitt, Bullwinkle?" "Moose feathers, little buddy, moose feathers." And that's the On The House tip for today.
