Dishwashing Liquid vs. Detergent

Is dishwashing liquid all right for use in the dishwasher? Not unless you're wearing scuba gear! Today, you'll learn the difference between dishwashing liquid and detergent. The latter is designed for an automatic dishwasher, no matter whether it's liquid, gel or powder, and is much stronger and far more powerful than liquids designed for hand-washing dishes. While dishwasher detergent can be used for other household cleaning jobs, it must be done with caution. This includes wearing rubber gloves and eye protection, as these detergents are strong and often caustic. Conversely, while liquid dishwashing soaps are mild, they tend to produce a mountain of bubbles. And that's your On The House Tip for today.
