Tip of the Day

Higher Wider Drywall

Howdy, buckaroos! Planning on putting up drywall at the old ranch house? If so, then you ought to know there are some new sizes in wallboard you might want to pack into your "buckboard." You're probably thinking there are only those 4 by 8 sheets, right? Well, ceilings are a mite different these days. Now there are panels 10 and 12 feet long, too. They can eliminate the need for extra cutting, taping and finishing. This was all well and good till the city slicker architects started making ceilings 9-feet tall, and we were back cutting, taping and sanding. But now the cavalry is charging in to save the day with another "specialty" size -- a new 54-inch-wide panel is a-coming. When two are hung sideways, they become a perfect nine-footer. Now ain't that just downright smart? So, before you get started, head into town for a little look-see and maybe round some up for yourself. And that's the On The House tip for today.
