Stubborn Bathtub Faucet?

Actress Farrah Fawcett was born this day in 1947. Both a model and TV star best known as Jill Munroe on "Charlie's Angels," she was rumored to be a wee bit troublesome both on and off the set. If you've got a faucet giving you a problem, you can get a troublesome spout out. Trying to unscrew a stubborn bathtub faucet that's been there for years can be can be tough. First, be sure there isn't a set screw underneath that indicates it's a "push-on" type feature. If not, take a piece of thick wooden dowel rod about 12 inches long -- even a piece of pipe will do -- wrap one end with a soft cloth to prevent damage, insert it into the faucet and turn counterclockwise. Your homemade tub-faucet turner should provide the needed leverage to remove it. And that's the On The House tip for today.
