Paint-roller Tip 2: Over-nighters

"Masterpiece Theatre" made its TV debut on this day in 1971 with classic shows like the "Upstairs-Downstairs" series. Are you repainting rooms at your house? Is your masterpiece upstairs and downstairs too? It'll take more than one day for sure. If you don't want to clean paint rollers each day or replace those that dry up hard as a rock, read on. Today in paint-roller tip 2, you'll learn how to handle multiple-day projects without roller drying or cleanup mess. The answer is to put paint rollers away while they're still wet. Slip your hand inside a plastic bag, grasp the paint-soaked roller sleeve and slide it off the roller handle cage. Then turn the plastic bag inside out with the wet roller still in it. Wrap with a twist tie, and store overnight in the refrigerator. Even several days later it'll still be fresh and as good as it was on the first day. Need even more time? Remove it, wrap it, cool it again, and keep on rolling. And that's the On The House tip for today.
