Today was a nervous day in history, as America waited to sign the declaration officially ending World War I, in 1918. It was to be signed on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th minute of the 11th hour. As they waited, they fidgeted and squirmed and played with their pens. Soon they had ink on everything. Things were a mess, but they were battle-seasoned veterans and knew how to mop up enemy stains. They wasted no time fighting back. They attacked immediately, dabbing and blotting with rubbing alcohol and dry cleaning fluid. Others cleaned with paint thinner or bleach. Still others used ammonia or detergent, even vinegar, to cut through the dye and oil base of ink. And that's the On The House tip for today.
