Stuff Happens!

Whereas home projects and repairs can be easy, accidents can, and do, happen. It pays to be home repair prepared. Here are a few basics to keep in mind. Always let others know where you are and what you're up to. The more precarious the location, such as on a roof or under the house in a crawl space, the more important this becomes. Always keep emergency numbers close at hand. If nobody is going to be around, keep a cordless or cellular phone nearby to call for help, if needed. Have a basic first-aid kit (or two) ready to clean up and sanitize minor knicks and cuts, or to bandage scrapes and skinned knuckles. Remember all the other safety tips we've passed along over the years, including proper power-tool- and ladder use and safety goggles. And that's the On The House tip for today.
