Drywall Tips

Another weekend's coming up. Are you planning more projects on the old ranch house -- like putting up drywall, but there's no one at home to help? Hanging sheets of drywall by yourself isn't a big deal if you know what experienced cowpokes take for granted. Do you want to hang some drywall up on the ceiling? The average tenderfoot will try holding it up in place while looking for a stud. He'll fumble for nails and the hammer. That's not the way to proceed. Here's how experienced pros working alone hang drywall -- even way up on the ranch house ceiling. Before lifting up the drywall and trying to hang it, they find their joist, measure and mark each piece. Then they drive a few nails just part of the way in. Finally, they hold the drywall up in place, and drive those little doggies right in. And that's the On The House tip for today.
