Tip of the Day

Soap Superstars

Today’s a big day in the history of soaps. Single-wrapped bars were first introduced in 1830 and liquid soap was introduced on the same day in 1865. Make it a big day at your house, too, by letting these soap superstars perform for you. Got a zipper that won’t open smoothly? It will if you rub it with a bar of soap. And soap on screw threads lets them go into hardwoods more easily. Saw blades lubricated with soap cut better. Got windows and drawers that stick? A lube job with soap will do the trick. Liquid soap or detergent in water helps remove wallpaper because it’s a wetting agent that helps water hold and soak into the surface faster and better. Soap is a daytime superstar that’s often overlooked. And that's the On The House tip for today.
