Screwdrivers 101

Your screwdriver can be your friend. Out in the field under fire, it’s a life-saver. And today’s tool is stronger, safer and more useful than ever before. Now you can forget about bent shanks, broken handles, injured wrists and stripped heads. Your basic 101 screwdriver has the following: the head, the handle, the shank and the tip. The two most important things to remember when choosing this tool are the material it’s made of and how it fits your hand. A good grip gives you maximum drive-power; get one that’s tough and made of forged steel. A square shank is your secret weapon because you can use it with a wrench for more turning power. Finally, don’t abuse it. Screwdrivers are made to drive screws and not to be hit with a hammer. And that's the On The House tip for today.
