Choosing the Right Garden Hose

There's a lot more to garden hoses than meets the eye. There are choices in garden hoses you should consider before selecting one. First, there are three standard lengths: 25 feet, 50 feet and 100 feet. The 50-footer is most popular. There are also three diameters to choose from, ?-inch, 5/8-inch and ?-inch, with 5/8ths being the most widely used. Hoses are made of three different types of materials: vinyl, rubber and nylon-reinforced vinyl, with the latter being the most popular. So, you have three lengths, three diameters and three types to choose from. The most popular is the 50-foot, 5/8-inch nylon-reinforced vinyl model. By just increasing the diameter to ?-inch, you can move 60 percent more water. And that's the On The House tip for today.
