When Hollywood honors stars, they have them sign their names and leave handprints and footprints in wet cement. You can make a permanent family record, too, by casting Mom and Dad, kids and dogs, Grandma and Grandpa and all-important personal dates in concrete -- just like the stars do. Whatever or whenever you want, whip up some concrete mix and use a shallow form. A square box or round garbage-can lid will do fine. Pour in a few inches of concrete and have friends and family members sign names, scratch in significant dates and make hand- or foot impressions. Then use them as stepping-stones and in sidewalks for future generations to see and read. And that's the On The House tip for today.
