Vent-free Gas Appliances

Do you have a room in which an energy- and cost efficient fireplace would be a nice addition? We've told you before about electric fireplaces. They add warmth and elegance to any room without need for a chimney or flue. Now there's something else you can do to have a real burning fire to warm your room -- and without the expense or need of a flue. New vent-free gas appliances, from stylish space heaters and realistic gas logs to elegant fireplaces and cozy stoves (that look just like wood burners) are here. They use either LP or natural gas instead of wood, and because they don't need a flue, chimney or outside vent of any kind, they're almost 100 percent energy-efficient (all the heat stays in your room). And that's the On The House tip for today.
