The first moving sign was installed in New York in Times Square on this day in 1928. Fifteen-thousand flashing bulbs made words move. That winter, those implemeting the innovation learned a lesson. That was: put in all new bulbs before cold weather begins, so as not to have to do it in wind, rain, sleet and snow. The same goes for your house; it takes only minutes to replace all outside bulbs on a nice day as opposed to doing it during a storm. And that's the On The House tip for today.
