Tip of the Day

Unsticking Sticky Labels

Today products come with sticky labels telling what they are and what they cost. They are supposed to peel right off easily, but, instead, they often tear, separate, rip and shred -- leaving a gooey mess you can't get off. Heat the label with a hair dryer first; feel inside until a little warmth comes through, then peel the label back slowly. It should come off -- clean as a whistle. If there's any residue left, heat again, and dab with the sticky side of the removed label. It will pick up any goo that's left. If you heat a label while peeling it, wear a glove. And that's the On The House tip for today.
