Veggies: What's Hot/What's Not

Back in 1863 44 kinds of turnips were the most popular vegetables in America's gardens. Today's gardeners grow everything from A to Z (asparagus to zucchinis). Three of every four gardens have tomatoes. About half of all gardeners grow peppers, cucumbers and onions. About 40 percent grow beans and lettuce, and one-third grow carrots, sweet corn, radishes and cabbage -- in that order. And that's the On The House tip for today.
