Mission Tubular Skylights

There is a new source of natural light that's cheaper to install than windows or skylights and goes in without major structural changes to roofs, ceilings or walls. It can be put into place in two hours or less. It's beautiful, high-tech and energy-efficient. It's a tubular skylight, and it was first seen in Australia more than 10 years ago where it became a No.1 seller with homeowners down under. Then it began to spread. First to Europe, where skylights are big. Now it's invading our shores. You'll see a clear-bubble dome on the roof that gathers natural light and transfers it down a highly polished 10-inch round pipe, taking it around tricky twists and turns, to a ceiling diffuser panel that is the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel." It's an awesome new force in both new homes and remodeling. And that's the On The House tip for today.
