Tip of the Day

Right-hand and Left-hand Doors

You need to know if a door is right- or left-handed when remodeling your home or designing a room addition. Right-handed or left-handed means which way the door swings based on the location of the hinges as viewed from the side of the door where you can see the hinges. Doors with hinges on the left are left-handed and those with hinges on the right, right-handed. Doors normally swing inward, but those that swing outward are called reverse-swing doors. Knowing whether a door is right- or left-handed, and whether it swings in or out is important when adding or remodeling. And that's the On The House tip for today.
