(More) Cool Caulk Tips

Recently we told of some ways professional caulkers smooth out a bead of glaze. Some lick their fingers and smooth out the caulk while others smooth with lubricants. We have still another way that we will happily share with you today. Our latest means for smoothing a messy bead of caulk is accomplished with an ice cube. For an extra-smooth caulking bead, start by running warm water over the cube to round off any sharp or squared edges. Then, holding the cube with a paper towel rub it gently all along the caulking joint until the entire bead is super-smooth. Now you have a really "cool" trick to smooth a bead without a lick. Now you have no excuse for lumpy, bumpy, messy caulk. And that's the On The House tip for today.
