Tip of the Day

Don't Be a "Stick-in-the-Mud"

On this day in 1954 a meteor fell to Earth, crashing through a roof in Alabama and showering Elizabeth Hodges with shingles and debris. Elizabeth made the best of things, though. She picked up some of the shingles and put them in her car trunk. She knew if she got stuck in mud or snow on her way to report her meteor incident, all she'd have to do was to slip a shingle under the wheels for extra traction. Shingles work well for this purpose, as does cat litter or big sacks of sand. The extra weight in the trunk adds traction, too. So don't be a stick-in-the-mud. Take a tip from Elizabeth and you won't fear mud or snow again. And that's the On The House tip for today.
