Allen screw stuck – quick fix

Got a small recessed hexagonal screw that’s stuck … on a faucet, towel bar, robe hook or on a piece of machinery? If so, you’ll need an “Allen wrench”, and, if it’s stuck, this helpful tip. These little fasteners, called Allen screws, often freeze-up over time, due to rust or dirt and when they do, you can easily strip the head long before you can break it free. The answer? From deep within the Carey Brothers vault of “ways to change your fastener luck” we bring “ways to loosen Allen Screws, when stuck!” Rather than struggle, strain, and strip the head, insert a punch or nail inside the screw hole instead! Making sure it reaches all the way to the bottom. Then tap several times with a hammer and try again. If is still wont’ loosen add penetrating oil, let it sit overnight, tap again and it should do it!
