Hacksaw blade protector

Did you ever notice what Olympic ice skaters do after twirling and jumping and skating for you? After taking their bows, as they leave the ice, they put rubber guards on their skate blades to make sure the blades stay sharp and won't ruin floors and other things with which they make contact. The same thinking can be applied to cutting tools like hacksaw blades that get lots of abuse -- more from storage than from use. To help you protect your tools, the next time you get a report with a clear plastic cover and slip-on spine, when done with it, remove the plastic strip and slip it over the blade of your hacksaw. It will protect the tool and anything it touches -- including (and especially) you. For more tips, visit our Web site at onthehouse.com. And that's the On The House tip for today.
