Ladder Types Govern Weights

Today, the biggest-selling and most-common household ladder, is the 6-foot folding "type- three" model. And, when buying one, other than choosing between wood, aluminum or fiberglass, they're all basically the same, right? Wrong! All ladders are rated by the weight they can support. And, type three which is the most common one sold, is only rated to handle 200 pounds, total. Which in fine, if you weigh 170 or 180 and use it to carry light loads, up or down. But if you weigh more, try type two which handles 225 pounds. For up to 250 pounds, choose a type one, and for 300 pounds, choose a sturdy type-one "A" model. For more tips, visit our Web site at onthehouse.com. And that's the On The House tip for today.
