Sawhorse Make-do

Movie cowboy Tom Mix was born on this day in 1880, and astride his trusty horse Tony, he always saved the day, got the girl and rode off into the sunset a hero. If you're not so lucky, and don't have a horse when you need one (a sawhorse in your case), and are using the dining room table or antique chairs to prop up work you are doing, here's what to do. To rustle up a temporary sawhorse, open up a stepladder and lay it down on its side. Then use it to support your work -- start sanding, painting and sawing away. Use your trusty ladder as sawhorse and save the day, Tom-Mix style. And that's the On The House tip for today.
