Mirror Mirror -- Repair Tricks

Antique beveled-glass mirrors are beautiful until they start losing their silver backing and a professional gives you an estimate to clean and re-silver it to its original glory. For larger areas, or total silver failure, before considering professional re-silvering, try scraping off all silver backing, leaving the glass totally clear. Then have a glass shop cut a new, thin, mirror to size to be sandwiched between the backing and the clear glass of the old mirror. And that's the On The House tip for today.
