Slick Ideas for Polishing Furniture

Fine wood furniture is beautiful to behold, as is fine wood paneling and antique cabinetry -- until they get dirty, dusty and dingy. Then it’s time to clean and wax them back to their original gleaming state. If table tops, wood panels and cabinets seem longer, wider and higher when it’s time to make them shine, here’s what to do. Do you have a big tabletop to wax and your arm feels like it’s falling off? Wrap waxing cloths around a brick and let gravity help ease the burden. Got lots of tiny crevices to clean? Spray furniture polish on a small art brush, then dust and clean at the same time. Need to remove old yellowing wax first? For homemade polish remover, mix equal parts white vinegar and water, wipe, let dry and wax again. You’ll get a perfect shine every time. And that's the On The House tip for today.
