Handle with Care

When you move a mirror, a glass table top or big window panes, you don’t want to drop them. To save wear and tear on your hands and protect floors and walls from gouges, use an inexpensive little helper found in any hardware store or home center. Before lifting or moving any glass or panels, cover the edges and corners with lengths of foam-pipe insulation. Use the type with the center split so it slides on easily over the edges. The insulation will protect your hands and will save walls and floors from dents and gouges. It’s also a great way to protect glass table tops and the edges of fine furniture when you’re vacuuming, setting up ladders or moving other items through. It is just good handle-with-care, wear-and-tear insurance. And that’s the On The House tip for today.
