Re-use Options for Stuff

While we constantly acquire more new stuff, we also wonder what to do with the old. Today you'll learn that even second-hand things get a second chance when they're in the right hands. Got an old computer you want to get rid of? Contact the national Christina Foundation or the World Computer Exchange. While you get a nice tax write-off, someone who really needs it, gets the benefit of your old computer. Got leftover building materials? Old tools? Donate them to Habitat for Humanity for one of their projects or to resale stores. Got old cell phones? Victims of domestic violence desperately need them. Old eye glasses? Give them to a charity. Someone somewhere needs them. Even old sneakers are needed. Nike collects them, grinds them up and uses them to resurface sports facilities for underprivileged at-risk kids. Whereas it might be old stuff to you, to someone else, it's "new." So, please donate. For more tips, visit our Web site at Onthehouse.com.
