Mini-Makeovers: Furniture Skates

Getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday? And, you'd like to give your home a fresh new look? Today, in part two of mini-makeovers, we'll discuss furniture skates (for those who want to make over their homes by rearranging things themselves). We suggest buying a few sets of specially made glides that slip under the legs of furniture and the feet of heavy appliances. That will allow you to slide them around with ease, as if they were gliding on ice or floating on air. There are two basic types: One is for carpets and the other is for hard-surface floors. Spending $30 or $40 might sound like a lot until you consider the potential for breaking a leg off your couch, tearing up the kitchen vinyl or putting a deep scratch in a gleaming hardwood floor.
