Budget Bathroom Additions

Adding a bathroom improves both function and value, but are there ways to save on doing so? You bet! Today you'll learn how to plan a bathroom addition without total budget demolition. Here's how: to hold down construction costs, build your new bath next to or directly above an existing bathroom. You'll save on installing lots of new pipes and vents. Select modestly-priced ceramic tile for countertops, walls, and floors vs. trendy (and expensive) marble or granite. Ceramics cost from $2-$7 per foot, while style tiles range from $8-$10 per foot. Even in a small bath, tile costs quickly mount up. Another option to consider is vinyl sheet goods for your floor. Today's embossed patterns are superb, and the price (from $2-$5 a foot) is right! Finally, while brass and nickel fixtures are nice, good old chrome will cost far less. Put these ideas together and you just may find a brand new bath that your budget won't mind!
