Got tarnished brass, dingy stainless steel, or copper that's all orange, blue and green? Today you'll learn how to bring back their sheen with household stuff that really cleans. For tarnished brass, rub on some ketchup. The citrus acid it contains works wonders, and adding table salt improves its clean-ability! For copper pots and kettles, cut a lemon in half and rub it on the surface. Add some table salt, rub gently, and rinse. To bring back the luster of stainless steel, especially on kitchen sinks, put rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or soft cloth and clean the surface thoroughly, then rub with mineral oil for a showroom sheen. Never use steel wool on stainless steel; the fibers can lodge in the surface and rust, giving the appearance that the stainless steel is rusting. Also, never use abrasive cleaners -- they'll scratch and dull the surface over time. Those are some Carey Brothers tricks for keeping metals looking slick!
