Tip of the Day

Candlelight Helper

The first candle factory in America was set up in Newport, Rhode Island on this day in 1748. Ever since, we've enjoyed the soft glow of candlelight to set just the right mood for special occasions. However, all too often, our candles seem to burn out way too soon and at the wrong time and we wish they?d last just a little bit longer. What can you do about it? From deep within the Carey Brothers vault of cool tricks to fool your wicks, we bring ways to get extra tocks and ticks. Indeed, it says here that if you want to get extra time to bask in the glow of candlelight, put your candles in the freezer for a few hours. When you light 'em, they'll burn much longer. Also, should wax drip down on your candle holder, put it in the freezer for a while too. The wax will harden right up and will be easy to break off in chunks. With candles, it's a pleaser both before and after. Remember the freezer!
