One-Stop Disaster Relief

The lessons learned from 9/11 have made recovering from a natural disaster easier. Today, you'll learn how one call is all it takes to get all the help you need underway! Recently, seven major disaster relief organizations launched the Coordinated Assistance Network, or CAN, to create a single database for disaster victims that can be used by national and local relief services. Now one call to any disaster relief center activates the CAN network and springs needed services into action--such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, United Way, and numerous other organizations. Once you register by phone and your specific problem and needs are identified, all agencies that are ready and prepared to help will have instant access to essential information so they can immediately begin providing assistance. The new CAN network requires nothing on your part other than a single call for help. It's a good thing.
