Gardens...Talking Trash

On this day in 1947, the first flying saucer was reported, and ever since, UFOs have been hotly debated. Are sightings real, or are they just talking trash? Today, when it comes to home gardening, many homeowners claim to have seen the light, and many are indeed talking trash: banana peels, coffee grounds, egg shells, and even old car tires! Today you'll learn that things you've been throwing away could be garden helpers you should save! The potassium in banana peels helps plants bloom. Just place them near the base during summer months. Plants like azaleas and gardenias love the acid and nitrogen found in old coffee grounds. The remnants from your cup o? Joe ward off snails and slugs too! The calcium in egg shells helps all plants grow strong stems. As for old car tires? Put them around tender young seedlings, and the heat they gather during the day will keep struggling ?newbies? warm at night. For gardening, these ?identified? objects are a proven fact!
