Tip of the Day

Outlet Snafu Switcheroo

Jerry Mathers "The Beaver" was born on this day. In one episode entitled 'Outlet Snafu Switcheroo', June and Ward had just moved into their new home, and a lamp they'd plugged in wasn't working. At first, Ward thought it was a burned-out bulb, but replacing it didn't shed light on the situation. Perhaps the lamp was broken? He plugged it into the lower outlet and it worked fine. He switched it back again and there was still no light. "The plug must be bad," said Wally. "Looks that way, son," replied Ward. Digging some cash out of his pocket, he told Wally to go to the hardware store and buy a new one. But as Wally headed for the door, Beaver came bounding into the room..."Hi everybody!" Then, noting it was getting dark, he simply flipped a wall switch by the door and the light came on. With everyone staring, he asked "What'd I do?" He did what you should do too...make checking wall switches part of your outlet troubleshooting!
