DUI: Driving under the influenza

It's New Year's Eve, and you know what they say: don't drink and drive. There's another kind of DUI, too. Driving Under the Influenza. It also affects you. Everyone knows the dangers of drinking and driving, but few know that driving with the flu or a cold can be just as bad, or worse. Medical research has discovered flu sufferers have a reaction time slower than moderate drinkers Even those with simple colds flunked field sobriety tests for hand-and-eye coordination. If that's not bad enough, it's made worse by taking over-the-counter cold remedies, many of which contain antihistamines that cause temporary drowsiness. And, driving under their influence is also illegal and punishable by the same arrest and fines. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
