Tip of the Day

Power strip template

"Magnum P.I" made its debut on TV this day in 1980. In one episode, Magnum found Higgins under his desk plugging a desk lamp into a power strip. "Want to get rid of the wires on the floor?" he asked, hitting his head on the desk. Higgins replied, "Ouch --OK, how?" "Look on the back. I see some keyhole slots," said Higgins. "Right. Those are for wall mounting, so just put some screws under your desk and mount it up off the floor." An hour later, he found Higgins still struggling. It seems after several attempts, he couldn't get the screws and holes to line up right. Magnum reached for a pencil and paper, and put the paper on the back of the power strip. He rubbed the pencil over it. The result: a perfect template for the mounting screws. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
