Caulking tube hang-ups

Got an old tube of caulk gathering dust in a drawer? To better preserve and store partially used tubes of caulk, and to prevent them from drying out, put screw-in eyes or hooks into the tips. Just twist a 3/16-inch or 3/8-inch eye or hook into the open applicator end. The threads burrowing into the plastic tip will create a seal that will last a surprisingly long time. For even better results, reinforce the seal with a wrap of electrical tape. To end clutter, hang the tubes where you can see them, so you can find them when you need them. And that's the On The House Tip for today.

Incandescent or Fluorescent?
An 18-watt fluorescent gives the same amount of light as a 75-watt incandescent and lasts up to 10 times longer.
