Tip of the Day

New "curb appeal"

Are you expecting company for the holidays, and you want to enhance your home's curb appeal? That used to consist of things like painting, landscaping, re-siding or putting on a new roof. Today, the "new curb appeal" starts right at the curb -- indeed the hottest new trend for boosting a home's curb appeal involves making a great first impression. The front door used to be the hallmark first impression; now it's a top-of-the-line designer mailbox with unusual custom touches that makes the initial statement. Add to that a formal address plaque, such as a fancy custom die-cast estate marker with your name, as well as your street address mounted at the entrance to a new tree-lined, 16-foot-wide slate-and-brick mega driveway. Put them all together and you've got the new curb appeal. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
