Hi-tech toolbox

Tools have come a long way since the Stone Age. Things are now more high-tech and very space age. Today, you'll learn how and why a high-tech toolbox beats working with sticks and rocks. For starters, there are cordless power "everything" drills, saws, sanders, routers, screwdrivers, power paint sprayers and caulking guns. Many are even interchangeable, combining lots of different tools into one. Even simple stuff has gone high-tech -- like hammers with changeable heads for framing demolition and finishing all in one. Or simple pliers that are now multi-pliers; they allow you to increase "squeeze-power" big-time. There are laser-beam levels and straight lines and sensors for finding what's inside walls. And there are tiny hand-held calculators. Even the tool box itself has gone high-tech, with built-in radios, coolers and water dispensers in a fully outfitted, rolling mini-workbench that doubles as a comfortable seat at lunch time. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
