Green flooring trends

Try "thinking green." It's easy to do. Today, you'll learn how even your choice of flooring makes a big difference environmentally. There's a whole new trend unfolding -- part by design and part as luck would have it -- that is centered on "green" flooring materials. By that we mean flooring that comes from or uses sources that are easily replenished, and that are quickly renewable. Examples of products that are growing in popularity are cork made from tree bark that grows continually and benefits from being harvested, and bamboo made from grass that regenerates itself in only three to five years. Another product gaining favor is linoleum made with things like linseed oil, tree resins, ground limestone and jute fiber backing; all are biodegradable. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
