Got a damaged or broken sewer pipe? If so, there's no need to dig up
your yard to make repairs. Today you'll learn how new cured-in-place pipe lining fixes the problem without digging or mining. Here's how: When a sewer line needs repair, rather than digging a trench, replace it using new technology -- called cured-in-place pipe lining; it gets the job done quicker and easier. First, the line is cleared of roots and debris, then a special lining and expandable air bladder are slid down the line. The outer liner is then impregnated with epoxy resin, and the inner bladder is filled with air so that it expands and holds the outer liner in place against the sewer pipe wall until it hardens to form a new pipe of sorts. The bladder is then deflated and withdrawn leaving a smooth seamless repaired sewer pipe that is better than the original. And that's the On The House Tip for today.
