A few years ago, progressive appliance-makers tried to connect
refrigerators to the Internet. Well, guess what, these guys are back! Indeed, appliance manufacturers are once again introducing "e-frigerators" with Internet access. Even though consumers then considered "smart" refrigerators a "dumb" idea, appliance-makers are reacquainting consumers with the notion, hoping we are now Internet-savvy enough to see the value and benefits of grabbing some milk and surfing the net -- at once. Screens of these newer entries also double as TVs. Sounds like a gizmo for one-room homes or maybe a mobile home trailer. Could be, but at about $8000 a pop, it's still "wait-and-see time."
