Tip of the Day

Add Interior Character

When you moved into your newly built home, you suddenly noticed all those spiffy little touches that you remembered from the professionally decorated model you were shown weren't in your new house. Simple upgrades just like those the builder and decorator used are all that's needed to put some zip into your home. Start by adding crown molding around the ceiling. Below that, a fancy fabric or rich wallpaper will do wonders. And below that, 30-inch-high wainscoting with a chair rail, wide baseboard and a rich raised wood paneling will add still more. Don't be surprised if the builder starts wondering why his model now suffers by comparison. And that's the On The House tip for today.
