Cabinet Door Hinges

Got loose hinges on a kitchen cabinet door? If you ignore them they might wind up on the floor. Today, you'll learn how to tighten screws so cabinets become as good as new. When cabinet-door hinge screws work loose over time (and they will), remove them one at a time and fill the hole with toothpicks that have been dipped in woodworking glue. Trim any excess off with a sharp utility knife and replace the screw. If the hole is larger than a quarter inch, use heavier wooden matchsticks instead, also dipped in woodworking glue. Catch and repair loose cabinet-door hinges early, before they get too bad. With this simple repair, they'll look and perform as good as new. And that's the On The House tip for today.
