It's Election Day from coast to coast -- a time when state and local
government races are decided. In even numbered years, all U.S.
Congressional seats are up for election, too, as are one-third of all
U.S. Senatorial seats. For months, candidates have stated their views,
asking for your support and vote. And as always, today, some will win
and some will lose. Tomorrow, about half of us will be driving around
with bumper stickers telling the world we voted for the loser. Here's
how to clear your bumper should your choice go into the dumper: You
don't have to scrape, rip and peel. Instead, try heating the bumper
sticker with a hair dryer for a minute or two; it should peel right off.
If it doesn't, coat stubborn stickers with a spray lubricant and let sit
a while. Cold cream or mayonnaise works too. And that's the On The House
tip for today.
